Poem on the sail (loosely translated by Maggie Liu and Dave Platt):

The moon in the evening sky
flickers upon the heart of the small lake
              casting broken shadows
                of intertwined branches.

Through the opening between the rocks
            the wind comes blowing
              mixing up the leaves
                of the apple trees.

Note 1: This CD suffers from a mastering/production error. The left and right channels are out of phase with one another. For proper stereo imaging and bass, you must reverse the + and - connections to one of your two speakers when playing this CD. In addition, this CD appears to have been mastered from a tape containing a different mix than the LP, and one guitar is absent from "The Traveller".

These problems do not exist on the LP version of the album, or on the CD versions released on the Background, Repertoire, Air Mail Archive, or Esoteric Recordings labels.

Note 2: alternate mix, present only on the 2005 Air Mail Archive release.

Note 3: early version, present only on the 2022 Esoteric Recordings release.

Note 3: Track 9 is an alternate edit of Minnamoto's Dream, with an abrupt ending rather than the fade-to-silence found on track 5. This alternate edit is present on the Background, Repertoire, Air Mail Archive, and Esoteric Recordings CDs of this album.

Note 4: track 1 on the first pressing of the Esoteric Recordings CD contains a mastering error - there's a brief gap of silence at 1:36. Cherry Red has acknowledged the problem and has run a batch of CD-R discs with the error corrected - buyers who have received albums with the flawed CD ("ECLEC2800 13 A00" in the center rim area) can contact Cherry Red to request a replacement CD-R disc.
